前幾天有個沒有上BBS的朋友在幫我們賣票的時候，問起我們要怎麼介紹自己？想了想還是這篇敬愛的學長寫的最貼切，於是便徵求他的同意貼了上來，7/29是我們最後一場表演了，同時也是Space Cake最後一場表演。這次我們找了一個很好的PA，希望有興趣的朋友們能來聽聽！

大部分的，我們所知道最好的Shoegazing都帶著一點冬天夜晚尾端的空氣。爐子裡的餘燼一定快要燒完了，杯子裡的酒一定只剩下淺淺的一口，剛好夠反射房間裡將熄的光線。然而它們看起來會很完美，在早晨的第一道陽光把它們變成杯盤狼藉之前，所有的東西，包括你跟我，都像是在它們該在的位置上。
如果不藉助歌詞本，在煙霧的圓圈裡，我們總是聽不出他們到底唱著哪些單字，但是那些句子也總帶著類似的面貌。那是 Jesus & Mary Chain 的 Some Candy Talking，是 Ride 的In a Different Place，是 My Bloody Valentine的 Sometimes，是 Slowdive 的 Alison 和 House of Love 的 Chirstine。那是糖果告訴我們的事，有的時候，在另一個地方，記起了某一張臉。
在亂七八糟的另外半個世界來到之前，有那麼一兩個瞬間，你會告訴自己，一切都很好，我們舉杯，就像蜂蜜和泥漿一樣甜美。
所以感謝一下吧，最先最先發明那十幾二十顆吉他效果器的工程師，他們讓這一點點的時間停留了下來，看起來彷彿有永久的壽命。熟悉的和弦在人們還沒察覺到的時候，一個兩個地疊了起來，在延遲、反覆、模糊和喧囂之間，終於變成一片，然後這一秒和下一秒，到下一分鐘，都像是一樣的。這個房間於是脫離了地球的軌跡，有了自己的時間系統。在總是似曾相識的街道上，在你想要離去並且留下的場所之間，有了一塊飛地，然後剛好的，跟我們躺下所需的長寬形狀一模一樣。
我們總是借用來自迷幻藥、酒精、煙草的詞彙來形容這些歌，但是就像 Slowdive 唱的，別要醉了，親愛的 Alison，Shoegazing 最好的地方或許是，它讓聽的人帶著清醒前往另一個地方。那個地方於是看起來分外熟悉，彷彿像是真的一般，而那纏繞著一切的聲音也永遠不會結束。
也因為這樣，再也不會有比那一疊唱片更好的 Shoegazing 出現，即使是在那幾支樂隊後來的日子裡。每一首後來的歌總像是不完全的複製品，儘管它們是一樣的好了。它們總像是那個不會結束的聲音的一部份，而你不過是昨天才買了那些唱片。
所以，就像你拿到唱片之前已經可以知悉的，Sloth Scamper 一定不會是一支夠好的 Shoegazing 樂隊，可以放到那些名字的旁邊，好像它們是十五年前 last live海報上的一份子。但是它們最好的時候卻有著某種特質，讓它們不是堆積如山複製品的一部份。
分明是熟悉的瞪鞋風格，熟悉的甜美和霧氣，但是整張唱片聽完，卻不曾有一秒鐘讓人想起，這首歌也許將會這樣子一直下去吧。總是在你將自己沈入那些音軌的前一刻，在耳朵還來不及熟悉那些和弦的時候，它們已經悄然換到下一個片段。電吉他刷下的手勢、歌與和聲的輕盈、合成器的編排、貝斯的行進、鼓的力道，都像是從一開始就朝著一個不知名的終點跑去，甚至於起了錯覺，每一個段落儘管是那麼流暢細緻地銜接起來，卻總像是在這裡，在下一秒鐘就要結束了一樣。
然後在曲子真的結束，唱針也停下來的時候，像是跑過了頭的長跑選手，一時間找不到終點的位置，那些理所當然應該要永遠持續下去的聲音，便一起從那個缺口中，用安靜無聲的方式湧了出來。
這讓它們不像那些我們所熟悉的 Shoegazing 歌曲，在 play 按下去的那一秒，把這個房間變成了另一個地方，而是在這裡，聽著我們曾經所在，而且不再回身的那個地方。那很像是幻燈片、萬花筒、旋轉木馬，或者畢業紀念冊之類的東西，把我們一起經歷的日子停在一格一格的地方，變成一塊一塊的碎片，然後再把這些不會永遠持續下去的東西全部串起來。
在那些雪景般覆蓋了我們的歌裡，每個聲音總是依循著穩定的拍子層層交織，讓我們的耳朵錯以為它們永遠是上一次見面的樣子。Sloth Scamper 的樂器卻各自以不同的拍子前進，雖然約好了用某個公倍數作為歌曲的骨架，但卻走著快慢不一的步伐。總是才以為重疊起來，就一點一點地掉開。吉他的短句、鼓和貝斯的速度、白噪音的回聲、男子的呢喃、女子的歌聲、合成器的鳴響、鍵琴的叮咚，它們總是流動著，在你沒有留意到的那一秒，便離開了原來的地方。
Animal Experimentation於是離我們想要留存下來的時間非常靠近，又總是說著我們對它的無能為力。明明是甜美愉悅的歌，我們卻總是來不及聽完整首，你還沒有準備好，下一個音符已經不在這個房間裡了。它們不屬於那些夜晚的末端，而是那些夜晚留下的影子。
如果我們還有大半個九零年代可以揮霍，MBV 跟 Slowdive 才剛剛解散，我一定會在明天下午把這張唱片放進你的隨身聽裡，亂七八糟地說著我又發現了誰誰誰的接班人吧。不過就像你知道的，我已經離那時候太遙遠了，如果我們在路上相遇，而你沒有走得太快的話，或許我會向你打聲招呼，問你最近還聽不聽新的東西，說上禮拜買了一張還不錯的 Shoegazing。

7/29 【Don't wake me up】
直到Sloth Scamper組成的幾個月後我們才發現，四個團員早在百景第二次來台演出時就相遇了。那晚百景翻唱我們的愛團MBV的When you sleep，長(也短)達一年的夢遊，實在不想醒過來。入眠時是聽著百景，第一次夢遊是由Space Cake相伴，那麼最後一場就一起拆禮物吧！
感謝百景義氣相挺，2009年7月29日，距離百景第一次來台灣剛好整整兩年，以下是來自百景的訊息：

IT'S SO HARD TO TELL WHO'S GOING TO LOVE YOU THE BEST
Apologies for the long lag in updates: I was busy in typing my paper in order to graduate as soon as possible. It's really bad. Fucking 30 pages took me fucking 2 months to type out. Oh God bless! I've finished typing finally. There will always be an ending.
Recently, Light in the Attic Records release Karen Dalton's debut album It's So Hard to Tell Who's Going to Love You the Best in vinyl. I like this album more than the well-known one In My Own Time.
The latest news of Sloth Scamper is that we will perform in the Wall Live House on 14th June(It's a Sunday! Yeah! Sunday again! Magical and Wonderful Sunday!). But in this summer, chi and I will go to Paris to study. Jupo will go to the army and our little Wingless will be graduated from her college. So we have to suppose that it will be our last "complete set" performance. We still don't know if we will go to the grass festival in July. Our plan is to give 2~3 more new songs in June and release them in an EP style maybe in the late July although that most of my plans never come true. But that's what the plan is. Wish us luck.

Sorry for the bad show last night
We are so sorry to do the worest performing last night.
About ten days ago, Chi and I had a bad cold and we have not yet recovered till today. We are so tired and can not do too long shows anymore. We are so sorry about these.
